Coca-Cola supports Red Cross COVID-19 recovery efforts

The Coca-Cola Foundation has announced a new partnership with Australian Red Cross to support vulnerable members of the community to recover from the social and economic impacts of COVID-19. The Foundation is providing $250,000 to support the Red Cross COVID-19 Care Collective which will provide immediate and long-term emotional care and support for Australians who have been hit hardest by the crisis. “Keeping our social health and wellbeing strong while we live with COVID-19 is so important,” says Australian Red Cross CEO Judy Slayter. “When COVID-19 has passed, let’s be in a position where we can look back and celebrate Australia doing its best to build new and creative social resilience at all scales, where we fostered positive behaviours and confidence across the community. Woolworths extends dairy levy

Woolworths has extended its existing dairy contribution payments on two and three litre fresh own brand milk varieties until June 2021. According to the retailer, the 10 cent per litre levy has contributed around $50 million to dairy farmers since it first introduced the initiative in 2018. Based on current volumes, these support payments are expected to contribute an extra $30 million to dairy farmers over the next 12 months. The move to extend the support is said to provide certainty to more than 450 dairy farmers supplying milk used in the production of Woolworths branded milk as the federal government’s Mandatory Code of Conduct comes into full effect and drives change in the industry. “Our levy has provided much-needed relief to dairy farmers and we’re grateful for our customers’ support of the program,” says Woolworths Director of Fresh Food Paul Harker. “While conditions have improved and farmgate prices have gone up since we started the levy in 2018, we’re extending payment

Does your retail business stop traffic?

From 1 July 2020, the Traffic Control Training (TCT) scheme will transfer from Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to SafeWork NSW. The scheme will fall under the Work Health and Safety Act as the Work Health and Safety Amendment (Traffic Control Work Training) Regulation 2019. What this means for your business in retail is that if you have deliveries to your store or loading dock, or carry out any other work that requires you to stop traffic or pedestrians, that are on or adjacent to a public road, then the workers you direct to do so will need to be trained. The changes will make it mandatory for workers to hold the relevant: SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training (TCWT) card, or RMS Traffic Control Training Photo Card. If any of your workers currently hold an RMS Traffic Control Photo card they will continue to be recognised after 1 July 2020, until the card expires. Prior to the RMS card expiring workers will need to convert to a SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training
