Sainsbury’s products now available on both Deliveroo and Uber Eats as it rushes to expand delivery capabilities

Sainsbury’s has partnered with both Uber Eats and Deliveroo as it scrambles to rapidly expand its grocery delivery capacity in time for Christmas.

As the online grocery boom continues unabated and stricter lockdown measures loom for millions across the UK, Sainsbury’s is turning to the two delivery giants in a bid to “find new ways to serve even more of our customers”.

Around 1000 Sainsbury’s products will soon be available to purchase on the Uber Eats app in ten locations across the UK.

Sainsbury’s superstore in Camden, London, will be the first to offer delivery from Uber Eats in under 25 minutes, before a further nine stores are added in “the coming weeks”.

Meanwhile the same 1000 items, which include Sainsbury’s own label and leading branded products, will also be available to order via Deliveroo’s app from this week.

Its partnership with Deliveroo will start with its North End Crescent Local store in Hammersmith, London, before rolling out to nine more stores.

The grocer says that should these new partnerships prove successful, it will look to expand their scope over the coming months.

“I am delighted to be partnering with Sainsbury’s in the UK, which will enable customers to quickly and conveniently order over 1000 items including fruit and veg, store essentials, and even flowers,” Uber Eats general manager Toussaint Wattinne said.

Deliveroo’s vice president of new business Ajay Lakhwani added: “We are delighted to announce this new trial with Sainsbury’s.

“Deliveroo’s on-demand grocery partnerships have proven vital for so many people during this difficult period, allowing families to get the food and household items they need and want quickly. We are excited to develop this trial in the weeks ahead and offer Sainsbury’s amazing products to customers across the UK.”

Deliveroo has partnered with 16 convenience and grocery stores since the start of the pandemic including Aldi, Co-op and Waitrose, while Asda became the first UK supermarket to partner with Uber Eats in July.

Furthermore, in 2018 and 2019, the FDA sent notices to a substantial number of CBD manufacturers advising them of serious concerns about product quality or egregious medical claims. The impirica brand looks different than most CBD brands — the brand name itself connotes testing and trust, says Eagle Labs chief commercial officer Michael Law. “It doesn’t use the traditional category colors of browns and greens, and you won’t find a hemp...
