Suman Guha takes on dual leadership roles at Tata CLiQ & Tata Digital

Bengaluru: Tata Digital has strengthened its leadership bench with the appointment of Suman Guha as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Tata CLiQ, while simultaneously taking on the role of Vice President – Head of Synergy Tech, a dedicated technology unit within Tata Digital.

His new responsibilities place him at the heart of the group’s strategy to integrate its diverse digital businesses and to accelerate the growth of its luxury e-commerce platform.

Guha shared his enthusiasm for the new journey in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday, announcing his dual role with Tata Digital and Tata CLiQ.

His Career Journey in Brief

He is a seasoned technology and product leader with a proven track record of building and scaling digital ecosystems. Before joining Tata Digital, he served as Chief Product and Technology Officer at Reliance Retail, where he was instrumental in shaping the technology roadmaps of several consumer-facing platforms, including Tira, Jio, and Omni-RRL.

Earlier in his career, Guha has also held leadership roles at global technology companies such as Tesco and Red Hat, experiences that helped him blend global best practices with India’s fast-evolving retail environment.

His association with Tata CLiQ is not new, he has previously served as the platform’s CTO for its luxury vertical, playing a crucial role in building a robust digital foundation for India’s first luxury e-commerce destination.

About His Current Roles

In his current position, Guha is expected to focus on Synergy Tech, a unit dedicated to driving collaboration across Tata Digital’s portfolio, which includes businesses such as BigBasket, Croma, Tata 1mg, Tata CLiQ, and the Tata Neu super-app. His leadership will be central in integrating these businesses onto a unified technology backbone, allowing for scale, efficiency, and innovation.

At the same time, as CTO of Tata CLiQ, he will guide the platform’s digital roadmap, enhance its omni-channel experience, and build on initiatives like the recently launched pre-owned luxury vertical.

Tata Digital, established in 2019, is the Tata Group’s flagship digital arm. Its ambition is to be India’s most comprehensive digital ecosystem, with the Tata Neu super-app at its core, bringing together services that span groceries, electronics, lifestyle, healthcare, and finance. Tata CLiQ, on the other hand, has carved a niche for itself since its 2016 launch by combining online convenience with offline partnerships, and through Tata CLiQ Luxury, it has redefined how premium and luxury brands reach Indian consumers.

Guha’s appointment is seen as a pivotal move at a time when the Tata Group is strengthening its digital play to compete with established e-commerce players. His extensive experience in retail tech, combined with his history of building consumer-first platforms, positions him uniquely to drive innovation across Tata Digital’s ecosystem while taking Tata CLiQ to its next phase of growth.

Furthermore, in 2018 and 2019, the FDA sent notices to a substantial number of CBD manufacturers advising them of serious concerns about product quality or egregious medical claims. The impirica brand looks different than most CBD brands — the brand name itself connotes testing and trust, says Eagle Labs chief commercial officer Michael Law. “It doesn’t use the traditional category colors of browns and greens, and you won’t find a hemp...
