The grocery chain’s dress code bans political slogans, including for Black Lives Matter, but it wants to stress parent Amazon’s support for social justice groups
Whole Foods is advising managers to “talk about donations” the supermarket chain and its parent Amazon have given to various social justice groups while enforcing dress code policies that ban Black Lives Matter slogans on uniforms or face masks, according to internal documents obtained by the Guardian.
The documents circulated in July 2020 to Whole Foods regional managers and store leadership are titled “Resetting Expectations: Dress Code Script”.
